Angestag, 31st Nachexen
Each of you had been heading to Middenheim to answer Crown Prince Hergard von Tassenik’s call for adventurers to be employed in a perilous mission to the Middle Mountains. However the severe weather on route had delayed you in Untergard for a few days. Meeting like minded individuals you prepared to set off when a commotion in town drew your attention. Gerhard Schiller, the watch captain, was reading out a message from Graf Boris Todbringer of Middenheim. Suddenly a group of mutants attacked. Bungo made good use of his sling, Falendar rained magic and arrows on them as Skagrum split the leading Beastman in two with his axe. Slaying them you found out about a larger force of Beastmen headed towards Untergard. Following your advice the remaining townsfolk decided to make for the safety of Middenheim, with you providing some protection.
Festag, 32nd Nachexen
On the road at the townsfolk steered clear of the village of Grimminhagen due to some ill feeling, however you travelled into town to warn them of the Beastmen. Here you met the local bailiff and found out a little of Graf Sternhauer and the history of animosity between the towns. That evening Granny Moescher wandered off into the woods and you had to rescue her from some Elven Kithband, with Falendar persuading them she was a harmless old woman.
Wellentag, 1st Jahrdrung
The following day you came across the scene of a Beastman attack on some coaches. Underneath one of the coaches you found the body of a man identical in appearance to Oddwyn (save a small purple tattoo on his breast), with papers identifying him as one Kastor Lieberung of Nuln. The papers indicated he was travelling to Middenheim to collect a significant inheritance – something that you all thought Oddwyn might be well placed to cash in on. Father Dietrich, the towns priest of Sigmar, fell into a trap left behind by the Beastmen and was mortally wounded. Before dying he entrusted to you an icon of Sigmar to be delivered to the temple in Middenheim.
That evening Granny Moescher again vanished. Putting together strange comments she had made earlier in the day and speaking to her orphans led you to believe she had intended to take revenge on Graf Sternhauer for the Graf’s ancestors killing her father some 100 years ago. Travelling back to Fahndorf you found Granny in the midst of a foul ritual, protected by ensorcelled wolves. While some of you held off the wolves and others attempted to disrupt the ritual, Oddwyn called out to Granny Moescher and implored her to end this madness. Oddwyn’s words reached Granny and she did stop the ritual, however it had already exacted a terrible toll on her.
2nd-4th Jahrdrung
As you all travelled on to Middenheim Granny died two days later.

The sight of Middenheim, City of the White Wolf was as impressive as you had heard. The city itself is located atop the Fauschlag – a pinnacle of rock a mile high and a mile across at the summit. The plateau was said to have been created by the strike of Ulric himself, god of wolves, war and winter. Four huge causeways wind their way up to the city walls from miles out meeting the north, south, east and west gates. However the proud city showed signs of damage from the recent siege by the forces of Chaos. Many of the cities celebrated heroes, including Graf Boris Todbringer himself, were out with the military forces hunting down the scattered armies of Chaos.
Arriving in Middenheim some men seemed to be acting quite strangely at the city gates, in fact Oddwyn thought they were gesturing to him. The city watch expressed an interest in speaking to you the following day about the Beastman force that had been spotted near Untergard. Captain Schiller thanked you for helping along the way and as the townsfolk entered one of the many makeshift refugee camps you sought out lodgings more appropriate to your station – an inn.
After securing lodgings at the Templar’s Arms you resolved to deliver the icon to the Temple of Sigmar in the morning and headed out to enjoy the city – plus Skagrum wanted a tattoo. On the way back to the inn you spotted two men following you. Before you could decide on a course of action both were slain by crossbow, with the assailant making their escape across the rooftops. Upon investigation it transpired that these were the men from the city gate and both had an unusual purple tattoo on their torsos. Making yourself scarce so as not to arouse suspicion, you returned to the inn with a feeling something was not quite right.
